Shadow Dungeon equipment is the Steam ARPG loot pipeline for Shadow Dungeon by OO Cat — not OSRS or Roblox namesakes. Official numbers: 3,200+ base templates expand into 100M+ semi-random items; Legendary and Mythic make up more than half of all drops; over half of pieces can carry extra skills that synergize with talents. Reforge, enchant, and enhancement push keepers. Verified August 27, 2026 · Steam.

Official positioning is blunt: millions of distinct pieces come from a finite template library, then semi-random rolls. Your job is not to memorize every base item — it is to recognize when a roll is on-spine for your clear plan.

The 3,200+ templates define the legal shapes of weapons and armor. Rolls then layer stats, rarity weight, and — often — skill grants. That is why two “same looking” blades can play completely differently on the same class.
Monster difficulty and loot power follow the stage, not your character level badge. A soft kit on a hard map fails; a modest kit with on-tier Legendaries clears and drops meaningful upgrades. Build farm routes around maps you finish cleanly, then raise the ceiling.
Official copy stresses that every piece of loot has value. In practice that means: equip, stash for an alt or set plan, or salvage into gold and materials via Treasure Sprites — never leave Legendary or Mythic on the floor after a pack dies.
Greater Rifts after the story are the intended climb for denser rare odds and heavier weapon affix rolls — details on Greater Rifts and affixes. Story maps still fund your first keepers; do not skip them waiting for Inferno.

| Signal | Action |
|---|---|
| Legendary / Mythic on-spine | Stash or equip immediately; compare grants to rotation |
| Legendary / Mythic off-spine | Stash only if a set/alt path is clear — else Sprite salvage |
| Lower rarity with perfect grant | Keep if the skill actually fires in your bar |
| High rarity, dead grants | Salvage — rarity label is not a build |

Steam’s planned future content still lists Transmutation & Crafting separately. Do not conflate those roadmap systems with the live reforge / enchant / enhancement trio you already have.
Use reforge when a keeper is almost right — correct slot and fantasy, wrong middle roll. Do not reforge random blues hoping for a miracle Mythic. Name the line you are fishing before you spend.
Enchant is the “nudge one line” lever once the item is already a keeper. Pair it with affixes knowledge so you know which line is worth the spend and which line is vanity.
Enhancement pushes power on gear you will wear for a long stretch. Enhancing junk rares is the fastest way to empty stones before Greater Rifts open better sinks and denser keepers.
Post-story rift loot includes Super Enhancement Stones, Essence Stones, Permanent Magic Stones, Golden Hammer, Divine Mirror, Socketing Stones, and large rune pools — including thousands of Equipment Skill Runes plus Talent Skill Runes and Attribute Runes. Treat those as endgame fuel, not early salvage spam.
More than half of Shadow Dungeon equipment can carry additional skills that synergize with talents. Official weapon updates also call out roughly 2,400 weapon-granted skill patterns — auras, trap launchers, skill conversions, projectile-blocking shields, combo launchers, summon accessories and attacks, and other extras.

If the granted skill never appears in your rotation, the item is cosplay. Keep grants that fire every pack or every boss phase; salvage the rest even when the rarity glow is pretty.
Unlimited late-game skill points make hybrids possible, but early kits still finish one talent spine. A broken grant can justify a respec — random Legendaries should not. Map trees on talents before dumping points into a shiny drop.
Fifteen armor sets per class exist specifically to change how skills behave. A set bonus plus a matching skill-grant weapon is often stronger than three mismatched Mythics — preview paths on armor sets.
Bind salvage habits early. Deep farms without Sprite/Fairy automation turn into inventory chores and slow your map-tier climb. Practical bind notes live on tips.
| Helper | Job |
|---|---|
| Treasure Sprites | Pick up gear · salvage unwanted pieces to gold · unique per-sprite effects · can grab loot through walls |
| Fairy | QoL companion — 1.0.1 called out Fairy movement speed and auto-salvage fixes |
| Stash warehouse | Quest-unlock bag pages plus a gigantic multi-page warehouse for legendary collecting |
Set farming is a long arc, not a day-one checklist. Until you can clear story maps freely, prioritize raw spine gear over incomplete set stubs. When rifts open, set completion and denser affixes rise together — see progression for the story → Paragon timeline. 1.0.1 also shipped bag-sort hotkeys; bind them before deep farms.
If clears feel free but loot feels dead, you are under-tiered on map power or ignoring skill grants. If clears fail, drop a tier — soft characters do not “luck” into better tables by dying faster.
Most Shadow Dungeon loot failures are process failures, not “bad RNG” stories.
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Enhancing off-spine rares | Only enhance finished keepers |
| Equipping every Legendary | Filter by grants + talent spine |
| Farming above gear power | Drop a map tier; farm on-tier Legendaries |
| Ignoring Sprites / Fairy | Turn on pickup + auto-salvage before deep runs |
| Hoarding without a set plan | Name the set or salvage |
| Waiting for Inferno to gear | Fund first keepers on clearable story maps |
If tooltips still feel opaque, open affixes next. If you already know which grants matter, chase set bonuses on armor sets and lock the kit on builds.

No. All loot is earned through combat per official Steam pitch.
Clear on-tier story maps first, then climb Greater Rifts (Normal → Master → Nightmare → Inferno) after the campaign.
Fifteen unique armor sets per class (four classes → sixty set configurations). Names and piece lists need client capture.
Reforge, enchant, and enhancement are live. Transmutation & Crafting remain listed as planned future content — keep them separate.
